Resolution
MiraScan was designed to offer extremely high resolution. Your maximum resolution is controlled by your scanner optical resolution. For most 300 dpi scanners, MiraScan will achieve a maximum resolution of 9600*9600 dpi. If you are using a 600 or 1200 dpi scanner, MiraScan will provide up to 19200*19200 dpi as your maximum attainable resolution.Scanning at very high resolutions will result in extremely large files. You must have a lot of RAM and hard drive space to do a scan at these resolutions.
In the resolution setting box, you can select or type in the resolution that you want to scan at. Select Custom to open the resolution dialog in which you can adjust the resolution of the X (Horizontal) and Y (Vertical) axes independently though this may cause the resolution of the X axis different from that of the Y axis; consequently, the proportion of the original image will be altered. To avoid this, you can check the Sync check box so as to adjust the resolutions of the X and Y axes simultaneously, which will retain the proportion of the original image. When you get the desired effect, press the OK button to confirm your settings and close this dialog box; if you are not satisfied with the adjustment, press the Cancel button to cancel your settings and close this dialog box.
You are, however, limited to 192,00 dpi in each direction.
